The central focus of the course is found in the person of Jesus, the one in whom, Christians believe God's character and nature are most fully revealed.
The New Testament, in Ephesians 2:17, powerfully summarizes the person, the work and the message of Jesus in the phrase:
This word peace, wherever it is used in the Bible, is always rooted in the ideas of the Hebrew word shalom, which means wholeness, integrity, harmony and completeness. It is the total integration of all things - personal and social, creation and cosmos, physical and spiritual, human and divine. Shalom is not only how things should be, but it is how they will be. It is the foundational biblical vision and value.
This unique revelation of God in Jesus and his proclamation of shalom, provide the basis for a biblical and Christian understanding of all true values.
